NeXus Slow Cortical Potentials Sensor

Overview

This sensor has been especially designed for measuring slow cortical potentials, signals in the lower range of the EEG spectrum (>1 Hz) . Slow cortical potentials are used in Neurofeedback for applications such as ADHD and Epilepsy. The NeXus has a DC-amplifier and is therefore perfectly suitable to measure these very slow waves. The Slow Cortical Potentials (SCP) sensor uses touch proof (TP) connectionsfor connecting TP electrodes. You can use a variety of different electrodes, but it is recommended using sintered electrodes because of their superior signal stability. Take a look at our NeXus minicap electrodes.
The SCP Sensor uses three TP connections. The red electrode is placed on Cz and both black electrodes are placed on the ears. The ground may be placed anywhere on the head/face or in the neck/shoulder area. We recommend using the Ground TP NeXus. The SCP Sensor NeXus TP uses proprietary carbon technology combined with active noise cancellation technology. Instead of "hiding" noise and artifacts with the classic filter approach, we simply measure the external noise and substract it, resulting in cleaner signals and less artifacts.
Note: measuring electophysiological signals always requires a ground. Therefore when using this sensor make sure to also use the EXG Ground TP NeXus.
