NeXus Temperature Sensor

Overview

The NeXus Temperature Sensor has been designed for monitoring very small temperature changes in the peripheral extremities. A stressful event, arousal or in other words, sympathetic nervous system activity, can lead to a vasoconstriction in the peripheral extremities, causing a decrease in temperature

Temperature is expressed in degree Celsius or Fahrenheit. The Temperature NeXus sensor can measure changes smaller 1/1000th of a degree.
The Temperature NeXus sensor uses a thermistor, a small tip which is usually placed on the palmar surface of one of the fingers, often the non-dominant hand. In order to prevent contamination by air flow, the sensor is secured by placing tape over the measuring tip/thermistor. The sensor is usually secured by placing an extra piece of tape in the middle of the finger. Special tape is included with the sensor. The Temperature NeXus sensor has been designed for monitoring minuscule temperature changes in the peripheral extremities.
