Stens Corporation is pleased to announce a new training format for biofeedback clinicians, designed to save travel expense and create less time away from the clinical practice. The first three days of the 5-Day program will be presented face-to-face in the classroom, immediately followed by 2 six-hour, live, online presentations.

All participants will learn electrode placement, recording techniques, visual inspection of the EEG and how to recognize artifacts by the collection of 19 channel EEG on a variety of hardware/software options with a maximum of three participants to each EEG system. The course will additionally cover EEG editing, QEEG analysis and the use of statistics and databases for interpretation. The participant will be exposed to a variety of software for analysis and will be given an understanding of basic concepts such as amplitude, power, coherence and advanced concepts such as Low Resolution Electromagnetic Tomography (LORETA) for interpreting the QEEG. Research and clinically relevant interpretive techniques will be included.

In this workshop the fundimentals of HRV are explained and illustrated. The basic biofeedback technique pioneered by the presenter and his colleagues in the US and Russia is carefully demonstrated and each participant is coached on the equipment to assure competency. In Part II, protocols for chronic pain, IBS, Anxiety Disorders, Hypertension, and other disorders are presented and practiced. The participant should be able to use these protocols in their own home or clinical settings by the workshop's completion. Participants will learn the history/development of biofeedback and the most common modalities used in biofeedback therapy. All participants will experience "hands on" operation of biofeedback hardware and software and will conduct simulations of actual biofeedback sessions featuring specific modalities, e.g. temperature, respiration, etc. A great start to learning biofeedback!
